Hartford Defeats Rival Scots
The Hartford girls basketball got back in the win column, defeating their local rival Argyle 45-35 back on Tuesday night.
Cailin Severance scored 11 points to pace the Tanagers.
Cassandra Wade also had a strong game, contributing nine points and 12 rebounds.
For Argyle, Kylee Humiston poured in a game-high 25 points and nine rebounds. Carrie Humiston chipped six points and seven rebounds.
Hartford is 2-3, 2-5. Argyle is 0-4, 1-7.
Salem Rolls to Another Win
The Salem girls basketball team earned another impressive victory, rolling past Mekeel Christian 48-31 in a non-league contest.
Mary Kate McPhee scored 19 points to lead the Generals.
Sierra Phillips added eight points for Salem. Ava Dupuis had seven and Sophia Keays six.
Salem is now 8-1 on the season.
Fair Haven Tames Bulldogs to Stay Unbeaten
The Fair Haven girls basketball team stayed unbeaten on the season with a 41-27 win over Burr and Burton. It was a nice win for the Slaters over a Division I opponent.
Fair Haven had the lead most of the evening. The Slaters led by seven after the first quarter and eight at the half.
3-point shooting was the key as Fair Haven pulled away after the break.
Izzy Cole led the Slaters with 14 points. Kate Hadwen added 12.
Nevaeh Camp and Josie Powers both scored seven points for the Bulldogs. Stefanak had six and Souza had five.
Fair Haven raises their mark to 8-0. Burr and Burton is 6-2.
South High Defeats Hudson Falls
South High led by 10 at the half and held on the rest of the way as they defeated Hudson Falls 59-43 in Foothills Council girls basketball.
The Bulldogs fashioned a 28-18 lead by the break and that proved to be the difference.
Kate McDonough scored a game-high 16 points for South Glens Falls. Bailee and Jordan Wolfe each scored 13 each for the Bulldogs. Sophia Halenbeck had eight and Mary Fitzsimmons seven.
Seneca Williamson paced the Tigers with 21 points.
Green Mountain Falls to Proctor
The Proctor girls basketball team continued to have their struggles this season as they fell to Green Mountain 51-34 on the road in Chester.
A 20-5 fourth quarter by the Chieftains blew open a close game.
Eighth-grader Callie Spaulding led GM with 13 points with seven rebounds and three blocks. Riley Paul added 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Colie Roby added 10 points.
Isabel Greb finished with 18 points for the Phantoms.
Green Mountain is now 3-4 on the season. Proctor is 0-5.
