Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I’m Keith Harrington. 

Fair Haven Girls Stay Perfect 

The Fair Haven girls basketball game opened up 2023 right where they left off in 2022. The Slaters remained perfect on the season by defeating local rival Otter Valley 62-33 Monday night. 

Fair Haven led by just eight at the half but pulled away over the final 16 minutes. 

Brittney Love led the Slaters with 15 points. Lily Briggs and Izzy Cole contributed 13 apiece.

Elena Politano had 11 points for the Otters. Anna Lee chipped 10. 

Fair Haven raised their mark to 7-0. Otter Valley is 0-6. 

Greenwich Boys Take Down Cambridge 

The Greenwich boys basketball team got a solid game from Joe Skiff as they took down Cambridge 75-44 in Wasaren League play Monday.

Skiff led the Witches with a game-high 23 points. 

Greenwich used a 27-11 second quarter advantage to blow the game open. 

Ryan Ingber recorded 16 points, Jacob Ziehm had 11 and Robert Barnes and Bradley Brophy scored six each for the Witches. 

Travis Yurshak paced Cambridge with 15 points. Zach Toleman added 11 and Mason MacDougal 10. 

Greenwich is now 6-3 on the season. 

West Rutland Rolls Over Proctor 

The West Rutland and Proctor girls basketball teams have had some epic battles over the years. This year the Phantoms are rebuilding, but the Golden Horde have a squad that is dominant. 

Westside flexed their muscles Monday evening, rolling over their longtime rivals 74-22 at the Hinchey Gymnasium. 

The Golden Horde led by 15 after a quarter and extended the lead before halftime. Westside did not allow the Proctor to make a field goal in the second quarter. 

Peyton Guay led Westside with a game-high 23 points. Guay also pulled in seven rebounds.

Arianna Coombs had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Golden Horde. Kennah Wright-Chapman, Aubrey Beaulieu and Bella Coombs contributed nine points each. 

Bella Coombs added 13 rebounds. Mallory Hogan chipped in 12 boards. 

Isabel Greb led Proctor with 12 points.. Greb added six rebounds and four steals. Emma Palmer had six points for the Phantoms. 

West Rutland is 7-0. Proctor is 0-4.
