Whitehall girls edge Salem, 1-0

By Keith Harrington

Hitting the back of the net has been an issue for the Whitehall girls soccer team this season but it didn’t deter the Railroaders from pulling off a win last week. The name of the game is getting one more goal than your opponent, and that’s exactly what Whitehall did in a 1-0 victory over Salem in an Adirondack League matchup.

Madison Gould scored the only goal of the contest for the Railroaders, and it turned out to be all that they needed. Jayden Hughes was credited with the assist.

Khloe Paddock and the Railroaders’ defense did the rest as they shut out the Generals.

Paddock finished with two saves for Whitehall.

Isabella Garrison stopped 12 shots in goal for Salem.

Whitehall is now 4-11 on the season. Salem is 6-9.
