Music at the Courthouse Sept. 11

The annual fall classical music event at the Historic Salem Courthouse will take place in the courtroom on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m.

The musical fare will include one of Beethoven’s lively early sonatas for cello and piano, the grand and unusually scored duo for violin and cello by Hungarian composer Zoltan Kodaly and Schubert’s imposing piano sonata in B-flat, offered in commemoration of the 9/11 tragedy.

The performers are series director and pianist Daniel Shulman, violinist Kaori Washiyama and frequent and popular guest artist cellist Maxine Neumann.

Tickets are available for $25 online at salemcourthouse.org or in person Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Historic Salem Courthouse, located at 58 E. Broadway in Salem.
