Whitehall’s Sawyer Ostrander earns state champion title at clay target championship
Whitehall Central School District’s clay target team traveled to the Bridgeport Rod and Gun Club in Cicero, New York, to compete in the New York State High School Clay Target League State Championship on Sunday, June 26.
The tournament hosted more than 90 high school teams and featured more than 1,200 competitors.
Sawyer Ostrander earned the state championship title in the junior varsity division with a score of 92 out of 100. He had the highest score of 117 competitors.
Mason Rollo placed 97th in the varsity division with a score of 83 out of 100, with a total of 157 competitors.
Shawn Haines placed 71st in the novice division with a score of 35 out of 100, with a total of 75 competitors.
Kolton Spaulding placed 125th in the varsity division with a score of 79 out of 100, with a total of 157 competitors.
The team is coached by Keith Redmond.
