A digital media seminar sponsored by NYVTmedia was held on May 25 at the Granville Family Diner informing business owners what they can do to stay connected to their customers.

Delivering the presentation was Katherine Haine of London, Ontario, Canada. Haine is the president and CEO of City Media, which aims to make life easier for businesses to be recognized and develop marketing and social media strategies.

“Making digital accessible is what this is all about,” Haine said.

Bridging the gap between digital and traditional media through a business’ digital footprint, establishing trust and accessing digital engagement tools were all discussed by Haine, including a free “digital health check” that assessed the business’ strengths and weaknesses.

“Social media is a pool, you throw the rock in and you see the ripple effect,” Haine said.

NYVTmedia publisher Mark Vinciguerra was thrilled to have Haine come and share her insight with business owners in Washington County and the Lakes Region of Vermont.

“You can go to a lot of different places and you’re not going to find somebody as knowledgeable, but more importantly, that can convey that knowledge,” Vinciguerra said of Haine.
