TanaForts rally to beat Fort Ann, 6-2

It was Senior Day for a large group of seniors on the Hartford-Fort Edward baseball team last Monday and they made their last regular season appearance on Bob Wilkins Field a memorable one.

The TanaForts scored six runs over the final three innings to rally from a 2-0 deficit and top Fort Ann 6-2 in Adirondack League baseball.

Fort Ann took the early lead, plating a run in the first and another in the fourth.

Hartford-Fort Edward scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth to pull away for the win.

Drake Stewart picked up the win on the bump, scattering five hits and striking out seven with no walks.

Bryce Tyler was 2 for 3 with a double for the TanaForts. Cole Gauthier was 2 for 3 and drove in two runs. Jimmy Lavin also drove in a pair of runs.

Dakota Winch tripled for Fort Ann. Ryan Blondin was 1 for 3 with an RBI.

Cullen Jackson struck out seven in five innings of work for the Cardinals.

Hartford-Fort Edward improved 4-4, 5-5. Fort Ann was 4-4, 4-5 after the loss.

On Friday, Salem-Cambridge broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the sixth and held on to defeat Hartford-Fort Edward 4-1 in an Adirondack League contest.

The TanaForts scored a run in the first with Salem-Cambridge getting even with a run in the fourth, setting up the decisive sixth frame.

Stephen Yakubec was 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI for Salem-Cambridge. James Toleman was 2 for 2.

Stewart was 3 for 3 with a double for Hartford-Fort Edward.

Toleman earned the win on the bump for Salem-Cambridge.

Salem-Cambridge is now 7-2, 8-5. Hartford-Fort Edward slipped to 4-5, 5-6.


Hartford-Fort Edward rallies for 6-3 win

Hartford-Fort Edward put together a big sixth inning to rally past North Warren 6-3 in a non-league matchup between Adirondack League foes on Saturday morning.

Hartford-Fort Edward trailed 3-2 heading to the sixth but scored six times in the frame to grab the victory.

Reagan Gebo earned her first career win in the circle, spinning a three-hitter with six strikeouts.

Ava Nadeau doubled and drove in two runs for Hartford-Fort Edward. Natalie Durkee doubled and drove in a run.

Nicole Buckman was 2 for 3 with a triple for the Cougars.

Hartford is now 2-8, 3-9 on the season.

On Friday Hartford-Fort Edward visited Salem and dropped an 11-3 decision to the Generals.

Brook-Lynn Tellstone spun a one-hitter to earn the win in the circle.

Sierra Phillips was 3 for 4 with four RBIs for the Generals. Kady Crosier was 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Kayla McCauliffe was 2 for 3 and drove in a pair of runs.

Nadeau doubled for Hartford-Fort Edward.

Salem is 6-2, 9-3. Hartford-Fort Edward is 2-7, 2-8.

On Monday Hartford-Fort Edward and Fort Ann dodged the raindrops and braved the wind as the Cardinals headed back over Route 149 with a 14-4 victory.

Fort Ann took control right from the start, plating five runs in the top of the first. The Cardinals added three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to open a 12-2 lead and held on the rest of the way.

Emma Blondin was the winning pitcher, tossing a 4-hitter with seven strikeouts.

Blondin and Angel Aratare doubled for Fort Ann.

Nadeau tripled for Hartford-Fort Edward.

Hartford-Fort Edward was 2-6, 2-7after the loss. Fort Ann improved to 2-7, 4-7.
