Cross country teams’ sectional results

The Granville-Whitehall and Hartford cross country teams competed in the Section II Cross Country Championships last Friday at Saratoga State Park and while neither team came home with any individual or team wins, they had respectable showings.

The Granville-Whitehall boys and girls competed in Class C. The Hartford boys and girls raced in Class D.

In the girls Class D race Hartford’s Brynn Tyler had a strong performance. Tyler came across the line in 12th with a time of 21:13:76. Tyler, who is just an 8th grader, was the second highest Adirondack League finisher behind Argyle senior Alyssa Freeguard.

McKenzie Johnson finished 64th for Hartford. Lily Stokowski was 71st and Kayla Livingston 76th.

In the Class D boys race Logan Reynolds of the Tanagers finished 53rd. Reynolds was second in the Adirondack League meet.

Other Hartford finishers were Bryton Mandigo 65th, Hunter LaCross 82nd, Hongxu Qian 88th, Justin Nix 111th and Michael Smith 113th.

In the Class C boys race Quinn Johnson was the highest Granville-Whitehall finisher. Johnson finished in 40th place with a time of 19:18:12.

Other finishers for Granville-Whitehall were Matt Pietryka 82nd, Hunter Rockenstire 86th, Tristan Teer 87th, Carter Powell 104th and Preston Bakemeier 108th.

Only two girls ran for Granville on the Class C side. Natlie Morin finishes 90th and Cammi DeKalb 108th.

The girls Class D race was won by Berlin-New Lebanon. Voorheesville claimed the girls Class C championship.

The boys Class D title went to Mayfield. Fonda-Fultonville won the boys Class C crown.
