Hartford volleyball falls to Lake George, 3-0

Hartford tried to be the first team to solve the Lake George volleyball team this season, but the Warriors weren’t having any of that. Lake George finished an unbeaten season by claiming another Adirondack League title, sweeping Hartford 3-0 last Friday.

Set scores were 25-18, 25-19, 25-15.

Lake George was dominant in league play throughout the season. The bad news for the rest of the league? The Warriors have only two seniors.

Maddie Burke had a strong match for the Warriors with 26 digs. Shannon Starratt also was a standout with 17 assists, five digs, three kills and two blocks. Olivia Gates added 19 digs and three kills. Evie Burke had nine assists, seven kills, and seven digs. Leandra Forte had three digs.

For Hartford, Gabbie Mcfarren had 17 digs. Sarah Monroe added 14 digs. Soleia Lamoureux had 13 digs. Cassandra Wade chipped in 11 digs for the Tanagers.

Lake George finishes the regular season 14-0, 16-0. Hartford is 11-3, 14-4.

Last Thursday Hartford made the short trip to Hudson Falls for a non-league meeting with the Tigers. Hudson Falls flexed their Foothills Council strength as the cruised past the Tanagers 3-0.

Set scores were 25-21, 25-22, 25-6.

Sarah Monroe had 18 digs and 13 kills.

The Tigers were led by Mattie Mingo eight service points, six digs and three aces. Julianna Blair added five kills and three digs. Shaylin Perry had 10 kills.

Hudson Falls is now 10-6. Hartford fell to 14-3.

The Hartford volleyball team celebrated their Senior Night at the Ella Colvin Gymnasium to begin the week last Tuesday night, sweeping Hadley-Luzerne 3-0 in an Adirondack League match.

Set scores were 25-16, 25-9, and 25-13.

Karlee Nims had seven kills for the Tanagers. Sarah Monroe added six kills and seven digs. Izzy French handed out 13 assists. Gabbie McFarren recorded five aces and four digs. Mary Sutliff had eight service points.

For Hadley-Luzerne, Lindsey Grey had five service points and four aces. Riley Daniels chipped in three assists, two aces and two digs. Jhlanna Baker had two aces and two digs.

Seniors Nims, Monroe, McFarren, French and Sutliff were all honored before the match.

Hartford was 11-2, 14-2 after the win. Hadley-Luzerne is 3-12, 4-12.
