Whitehall nips Horde girls, 2-1
By Keith Harrington
Granville’s girls soccer squad recently won their first game since 2018 and put together a solid effort against a tough Bolton-Warrensburg club. The Whitehall girls have hovered around the top of the Adirondack League in recent years, posing another challenge for Granville.
The Golden Horde stayed close to the Railroaders all afternoon long, but in the end came up just a little short as Whitehall escaped with a 2-1victory last Thursday on their home pitch. It was the second straight win for Whitehall.
Whitehall led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Kamryn Baldwin. Alexis Macleod picked up the assist.
The Railroaders extended the lead to 2-0 in the second half when Macleod converted a pass from Jayden Hughes.
Granville cut the lead in half on a goal by Hannah Ingleston. Laura Arnhold had the assist.
Dory Gosselin had four saves for Whitehall. Kiera Rice stopped nine shots for the Golden Horde.
Whitehall is 2-1, 2-1. Granville is 1-3, 1-3.
