Car Crash on Church Street sends one woman to hospital

A failure to yield on the morning of April 21 led to a two-vehicle car crash at Church Street and Water Street, sending one individual to the hospital.b

Granville Police Chief Ernest Bassett Jr. said Vincent Scarlotta, 59, of Granville was ticketed for failing to yield after turning onto Water Street and being struck on the passenger side of his Blue Subaru by a woman, Moriah Illsey, 30, of Granville driving South on Church Street in her White Honda Pilot.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage, with the woman having been transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center in Vermont for an arm injury.

“It was a two-car collision and we transported one minor injury to the hospital,” Granville Rescue Squad captain Paul Zinn said.

Responding to the scene in the wet conditions were Granville Police Department, Granville Rescue Squad and Granville Engine & Hose Co. #1.
