The Town of Poultney and local community partners will host a virtual workshop centered on growing Poultney’s outdoor recreation economy and revitalizing the downtown area on Monday-Thursday, Feb. 8-11.
Organizers encourage residents to join in to share perspectives on what makes Poultney special and then help create a community action plan that will build the town’s outdoor recreation sector and energize Poultney’s downtown.
The workshop will take place over six sessions, each lasting between 90 minutes and two hours. Participants are encouraged to sign up for one or all of the sessions.
Sessions will range from providing context for the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities planning assistance process in Poultney; uncovering the community’s vision and values for outdoor recreation and downtown revitalization; and exploring examples of similar work from peer communities to small working group exercises to action brainstorming sessions and more. The workshop week will end with a wrap-up session to review goals and next steps.
