The Whitehall golf team and girls’ soccer team were both selected as New York State Scholar-Athlete Teams for the fall season.
The golf team went low on the links and high in the classroom, winning the Adirondack League Championship and having the second best GPA out of any golf team in the entire state this season.
The Railroaders had a staggering team GPA of 96.83, only Medina High School in Section XI had a better GPA, with a 97.68.
Rounded to the nearest tenth the GPAs for the golf team were:
Robby Pereau had a 94.5, Chris Talbert a 93.2, Chad Amerio a 97.2, Meghan Redmond a 98.9, Garrett Beebe a 91.6, Cullen Flynn a 98.6, Garrett Stevens an 86.3, Zac Barber an 89.6, Steven Gosselin an 89.7, Matt Austin an 87.5, Logan LaChapelle a 98.3, John Hollister a 94.5, Sean Deridder an 81.1, Maclain Keough an 84, and Shane Amerio a 95.9.
Whitehall’s girls’ soccer team also received recognition with an overall team GPA of 93.39.

Erika Harker had a 96, Caity Sandford a 96.8, Mallory Keough a 96, Olivia Short a 94.1, Amber Eggleston a 97, Heather Michaud a 93.8, Morgan Winters an 89, Sam Julius a 90.1, Betsy Molgano an 87.4, Brooke Paddock a 95.5, Sydeny Davis an 87.3, Rachel Lavin a 98.1, Abby Dickinson an 89.6, Shelby Keane a 92.9 and Courtney Rozell a 90.1.
Both teams received recognition for their scholastic achievements last season as well.
Any team with a GPA of 90 or above gets recognized as a Scholar-Athlete Team.
