Rifle Club beats Moreau, now 5-0

The Whitehall Rifle Club was on the road, last week, at Moreau where the team came away with a 968-921 win.

Moreau is the only team in the Tri County Rifle League who still shoot off from tables, a practice once common in the league.

The tables didn’t seem to bother John Hollister who was 50-50-50 in the positions where the tables are used. Hollister had a score of 198 to lead all shooters in the match.

Whitehall has been without some of its best shooters this season. The situation got a little worse last week with the loss of Pete Steffan due to surgery. Steffan is expected to be out 2-3 weeks.

With Steffan out of the picture, Louie Pratt stepped up to the line and held up his end with a fine 195. Jimmy McGinnis was there when needed also; despite a couple of off weeks, he came away with 193 this night.

The 4th spot on the team went to Scott Fish who had his best night of the season, shooting 192. Dick McMore closed out the top five with a 190.

This week the Whitehall team is again on the road for a visit to the Hudson Falls Range. There won’t be any concerns about wobbly tables this week; Hudson Falls has one of the finest facilities in the area.
