One win, two losses for Horde baseball

Following a tight win over Stillwater last Tuesday, the Horde suffered two losses to Hoosic Valley and Hoosick Falls.

On April 9, the boys started slow with a scoreless first inning. The Horde picked up the pace in the second and third inning to have a five-run leave, but Stillwater nearly caught up by the sixth.

However, the Warriors single run in seventh was not enough to give them a lead, so Granville took home the victory.

Evan Hoagland proved his mettle with nine strikeouts, while Colton Zovistoski scored two runs for the Horde.

Several days later, the boys didn’t fare as well as they took a 10-0 loss to Hoosic Valley. Hoosic Valley’s John Rooney was able to strike out nine of the Horde.

Despite Luke Hahn’s two singles, the boys weren’t able to reach home at all during the game.

On Monday the Horde had another scoreless 7-0 game against Hoosick Falls.

Hoosick Falls’ Josh Brogue struck out twelve of the Horde, allowing them no runs during the game. Luke Hahn’s pitching kept his opponents at bay for four out of their six innings, but it wasn’t enough to stop them from winning.

The Horde is now 1-3 in the league and 1-5 overall.

The boys will have a chance to get back in the groove at a home game Friday at 4:15 p.m.
