School board petitions open

Petitions for the nomination of candidates for the office of Granville Board of Education member are now available at the district business office in the high school.

Three board member positions are open; Dale Olsen, who was filling in a one-year slot, said she has not yet decided if she will run again. Kevin Ely and Eric Scribner had not picked up petitions and were not able to be reached as of Tuesday afternoon.

At least 25 signatures and complete addresses of qualified district voters are required on the petition for this three-year term. Officials define a qualified voter as a citizen of the United States who is at least 18 years old and has been a resident within the district for a period of at least thirty days preceding the vote.

Petitions must be returned to the district clerk’s office by Monday, April 22 at 5 p.m. The office is open from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
