Boil water notice to be issued

Village residents will need to boil their water during the first half of next week.

The Department of Public Works will issue a village-wide boil water notice Monday. The notice is expected to persist until Wednesday.

Any water used for consumption will need to be boiled during that time.

Don Williams, Superintendent of Public Works, said the notice is necessary because a new water main being installed near South Bay will be connected to the village’s existing water system on Sunday evening.

Anytime a new line is installed, the state requires a boil water notice be issued.

Williams said if the water passes tests, the notice would be released on Wednesday.
