Scott Fish knows how to listen. That is a good thing when you are listening to the top shooter in the Tri-County Rifle League.

Scott was next to John Hollister in last week’s match at Hartford. He was having trouble seeing with the mirage near the targets. John advised him to take his time and wait for the mirage to clear before firing. Scott did as instructed and the result was his best day as a member of the Whitehall team and top billing, with 197, to lead the team to a 980-967 win. The win keeps Whitehall in a tie with Galway at the top of the league with 9-1 records.

Three members of the Whitehall Junior Shooting Club took part in this match. Malia and Joe Delorme each shot 183 for Whitehall while Jay Lawrence shot 184 for Hartford.  The Whitehall shooters are very proud to see the Junior Program beginning to show results.

John Hollister was second on the team wit a 197. Scott had a 49 off hand as compared to John’s 47 off hand for the tie breaker. Pete Steffan was in the 3rd spot with a 196 while the Pratt father son duo of Louie and Jason had 195s.

Whitehall has some pretty good back up with Dick McMore shooting 195, Brian Hollister with 193, Rick Delorme 192 and Jim McGinnis 191.

Whitehall will travel to Fort Edward this Thursday. 980 is a decent score, the team will be looking to keep that pace as the season winds down to a possible shoot out with Galway.
