Big Lots will officially celebrate its Granville grand opening on Nov. 16. In addition to specials, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m., and the store will present a $2,500 check to the Granville Elementary School as part of the celebration, said store manager Bill Ringer.

“We’re excited to be here in Granville, and we’re looking forward to meeting a lot of new customers and looking forward to serving the community as well,” Ringer said.

Village Mayor Brian LaRose expects the business to fill a void in the village.

“I think it’s going to be extraordinary for the village,” LaRose said. He thinks the opening will be very favorable for both the store and local businesses.

“It will supply jobs for folks, and it has a good demographic that will bring people in,” LaRose said.

Ringer said the store offers “a wide range of everyday essential products, great price points, friendly customer service and unexpected deals that will save you money.”

“Everyone loves a great deal, and that’s just what you find here in our store,” Ringer said. He thinks preparations have been going well so far. Big Lots currently employs 45 people.
