Carol L Roberts, 59

GRANVILLE – Carol L. Roberts, age 59, went home to her beloved Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.

Carol was born on June 26, 1952, in Granville, the daughter of Richard T. and Elizabeth Jessie (Roberts) Roberts.

Carol graduated from Granville High School in 1970. She was a kind and compassionate person who choose a career that allowed her to exemplify this. She obtained a degree in criminal justice and a master’s in education from the College of St. Joseph. Throughout her life her choices all revolved around helping others. She worked at an ARC Home; in the PINS program (Persons In Need of Supervision) as well as caring for the elderly at Equinox Terrace. She used her education degree to tutor migrant children. She was a director of religious education at Immaculate Conception Church in Schenectady in addition to working in the prison ministry, teaching and spreading the word of God’s love and forgiveness.   Carol was a deeply spiritual person. She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Granville.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling, attending religious retreats, visiting monasteries, attending concerts and other area events.

Carol was predeceased by her father Richard and a brother Richard T. Roberts III. She is survived by her mother, Jessie Roberts, and a son, Joseph Tisi of Manchester, Vt.  She is also survived by her three brothers: Gary and his wife Deborah, Larry and his wife Kathleen, Bill and his wife Patty, all of Granville, and her two sisters: Gwen Schneider and her husband George of Granville and Rosanne Holcomb and her husband Larry of Minnesota. Carol was blessed with six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 23 Bulkley Ave., Granville, with the Rev. Joseph Arockiasamy presiding. Burial will be in Mettowee Cemetery, Granville.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert M. King Funeral Home, Granville.
