Devil’s Bowl Speedway opens for the season Sunday, May 6, with the “Spring Green” event, which will include a 112-lap race for the American Canadian Tour cars, as well as feature races for the track’s NASCAR Bond Auto Parts Modifieds, Renegades and Bombers.

Opening day will be the first for new owners Mike and Alayne Bruno, who purchased the speedway from founder C.J. Richards.  Devil’s Bowl Speedway opened as a dirt track in 1967 and was paved in 2010.

Devil’s Bowl is largely switching from its traditional Sunday afternoon racing to Friday nights this season, after the first few weeks. That includes a race, May 13, and motorcycle racing May 20. The speedway kicks off its Friday night racing series at 7:30 p.m., May 25. The race will be sponsored by People’s United Bank. The event will include extra-distance races for the Bond Auto Parts Modified and Late Model divisions.

Friday night racing revs up and continues through the month of June including a special 50-lap event for the Renegade division on June 15.

The American-Canadian Tour’s Spring Green event begins at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 6. General admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors (62+), and free for children 12 and under.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway is located on Route 22A in West Haven, Vt., six miles north of Exit 2 on U.S. Route 4. For more information, call (802) 265-3112 or visit www.devilsbowlspeedwayvt.com.
