School Superintendent James Watson has a specific focus for what the Whitehall School District wants out of the National Guard Armory site.
“We want the garages, and we want to be able to use the gym from November to April. That’s all we’re looking for,” said Watson, who toured the armory site last Friday with his school business manager and members of the Board of Education’s buildings and grounds committee. “We might want to have some space for a weight-training area, which we haven’t had room for.”
The next step will be a report from the buildings and grounds committee. That will come at the Board of Education meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18, in the Large Group Instruction Room at Whitehall Central School. The meeting was moved from Monday, Jan. 17, which is Martin Luther King Day.
