Hollis F. Thomas, 56, died peacefully at her home on Oct. 7, 2010, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Holly was born on Feb. 7, 1954, to George W. and Helen (Housman) Folger.

She graduated from Granville Central School as well as Adirondack Community College, only to return to Granville Central School where she worked until her retirement.

Holly married Peter Thomas on Aug. 1, 1981. Together they enjoyed many hobbies, but her favorite was taking trips together on their motorcycles. They traveled all over this country seeing the sites, meeting people and feeling the wind in their faces. Peter passed away on March 11, 2001.

Holly was a free spirit who enjoyed life and touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her parents; a sister, Diane (John) McGuire; two brothers, Jonathan (Karen) Folger and Thomas Folger; her mother-in-law, Theresa Thomas; a sister-in-law, Carol (Ken) Arrzberger; and several nieces.

As per Holly’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow at Mountainview Cemetery, West Pawlet, Vt.
