Rose Mary M. Corbett

Rose Mary M. Corbett, 86, went into the hands of Our Lord on Friday, July 17, 2009.

She was born in the Bronx on Feb. 17, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Augusta (Veit) Moeller.

Rose Mary and the family moved to North Hebron in 1958.

Rose Mary was a homemaker and loved being home to care for the family as well as their many animals.  Being outdoors was her heaven.  Now she is up in the real Heaven watching over each of us.

She was an avid reader and loved sewing and music.  She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother.

She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Congregation in Granville.

An honor of distinction for Rose Mary was being named by the New York State Health Facilities Association Inc. as a “Volunteer of the Year.”  She also received the New York Health Facilities award on a district level with her husband, Charles.  This honor was bestowed upon her for her outstanding service at the Indian River Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Granville where she volunteered for more than 20 years.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Corbett, her sister, Helen M. Crane and brother Charles Moeller, Jr., all of New Jersey, and an infant great-grandson, Aidan J. Villano of Gansevoort, who died at childbirth and will be greeting his great-grandmother in the House of the Good Lord.

She is survived by five daughters, Catherine Archambault, wife of William, Margaret Unsell, Sister Patricia Anne Corbett C.R., Elizabeth Wickerham, wife of David, and Linda Labas, wife of Michael; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

According to her wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, at St. Mary’s Church in Granville with the Rev. Michael Flannery, pastor of Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church of Whitehall, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Glens Falls, in the family plot.

The family would like to thank the staff on C Wing at Indian River Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Granville for their love, compassion and care during Rose Mary’s stay.  The family also wishes to express their gratefulness to Hospice of Saratoga County.  Their exceptional assistance and knowledge helped make Rose Mary’s final days easier for everyone.
