Cecil W. Brown

 

Cecil Wayne Brown died unexpectedly on June 7, 2009, at Rutland (Vt.) Regional Medical Center.

 

Cecil was born on April 20, 1936, in Danby, Vt., the son of  Merritt D. “Tink” Brown and Velma (Corey) Brown.

Cecil always worked on the family farm, eventually partnering with his brother Homer and ran the “Two Brothers Farm.” He enjoyed going four-wheeling in his spare time. Cecil also collected toy tractors.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Mervin.

Survivors are his brothers, William and his wife, Jessie, of Wallingford, Vt., Corey  and his wife, Bianca, of Danby, Nelson  and his wife, Verna, of Salem, N.Y., Douglas and his wife, Carol, of Pawlet, Vt., and Homer of Pawlet; a sister, Tulita Cleveland and her husband, Walter, of Pawlet; an uncle, Gerald Corey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 11, at noon at the Robert M King Funeral Home, 23 Church St. Granville, N.Y. Burial will follow in Mettowee Valley Cemetery in Pawlet. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10.
