William F. Dalton

William F. Dalton, 80 years old, of Bellingham, Washington, died March 6, 2008 after a lengthy illness.

 

William was born on October 17, 1927 in Whitehall, the son of Fred Dalton and Hazel (Dalton) Meyer. 

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age 17, serving four years during World War II.  He later enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent to Germany for four years.  He completed his education and was stationed in Hawaii and Korea.  He then spent one year of duty in Vietnam, and he completed 20 years of duty shortly after. 

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Pham and son-in-law Phi Van Pham; two grandsons; Wally, Jr. and Brennon; two granddaughters; Melissa and Monica; and one great granddaughter, Kathryn.  He is also survived by one sister, Beverly (Dalton) Kennedy Ames and her family from Whitehall.

Besides his parents, William was predeceased by his wife, Martha Dalton, who died in 1996; by three brothers; Jack Dalton, Thomas Dalton and Donald Dalton; three sisters; Dorothy Denue, Beatrice Generous and Florence Reynolds.

A memorial military service in remembrance of William was conducted on March 16, 2008 in Bellingham, Washington.
