It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we say farewell to Rev. Jane Knight, born Jane Walsh, Oct. 25, 1936, to John and Carrie Walsh in Hackensack, N.J.

Rev. Jane had been the Pastor of the Wells United Methodist Church for many years, where she led others by example to share the word of God to others. Jane is survived by her three children; Porter Galante and his wife, Priscilla, of Ellenton, S.C and their two children; Porter’s son Sean and his four children, and Porter’s daughter Danielle and her two children; Sara O’Dougherty and her husband, Robin, of Concord, N.H., and their two children, Ashley and Thomas and his wife, Elizabeth. Chuck Galante, his wife Elizabeth of East Dorset, Vt.,  and their two children Dylan and Mary. In addition, a grandson Sean Michael of Granville and his daughter. As well as her husband Rev. Charles Knight and his children, Nancy Miller and Paul Knight of Hampton, Va.

She touched the lives of many with her love and kind heart. Her children invite all to share in the celebration of her life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Wells United Methodist Church. To follow, they ask that you share in a pot luck barbeque at the Modern Woodman Hall in Wells, Vt. Rejoice in knowing that she is free of the cancer that has taken her from us. Take comfort in knowing that friends and family that have gone before her have welcomed her with open arms. We will sorely miss her courage, her laugh and her radiant smile but are warmed by the knowledge of her ever lasting peace. In lieu of flowers, help others by making a donation to your favorite charity.
