Anita M. Sheffield

 

Anita M. Sheffield, a former resident of Whitehall, New York, Oswego, New York and Caroga Lake, New York, died in Kissimmee, Florida July 18, 2007, at the age of 95.  She was predeceased in 1996 by her husband of 64 years, George Sheffield.

 

 

Anita, daughter of Charles and Mae Wilcox Richmond, was born August 28, 1911 in Oswego, New York where she attended Oswego Normal School.  After marrying George in 1932, they moved to Whitehall, New York where they resided for 56 years.

 

Anita was a member of Whitehall Methodist Church; Past president of Methodist Ladies Society of Whitehall; Past chairperson of Mission Program of Troy Conference of Methodist Church; Charter member of Fawns (Elks Ladies Organization); Member of Rural Charity Club of Whitehall; Girl Scout leader; and member of Nick Stoners Senior Citizens of Caroga Lake. 

 

Anita is survived by her son, G. Richmond Sheffield and his wife Jean Fish Sheffield of New Port Richey, Florida, her daughters Beverly Sheffield Briggs of Palatine Bridge, N.Y. and Carol Sheffield Hiesinger and her husband Karl Hiesinger of Kissimmee, Florida.  Anita also has 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

 

Anita was predeceased by her two sisters, Nina Richmond Tyler and Lillian Richmond Young.

 

Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
